Deep tissue

Slow, firm work, with the pressure yours to set.

Deep tissue is slower and firmer than a relaxation massage. It is for people who like to feel the work.

Your therapist works with hands, forearms and elbows where you ask for it, and uses the time to stay on one area instead of moving on. Firm does not mean painful: say lighter at any moment and we go lighter.

  • 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes

  • Pressure checked at the start, middle and end

  • Covered by a sheet the whole time

The session

What happens, step by step

  1. 01

Step 1: Say where and how firm

A short chat about where you want the work and the pressure you like to start with.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Get settled

Your therapist steps out while you get on the table under a sheet, face up or face down.

  3. 03

    Step 3: The work

One area uncovered at a time, slower and firmer. We check the pressure in the middle of the session.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Sit up slowly

A few quiet minutes at the end, then your therapist steps out while you dress.

Before you come

Pressure, covering and what to wear

  • You set the pressure

Firm is where we start only if you ask for it. Say lighter, or stop, at any moment.

  • Covered the whole time

A sheet over you, with only the part we are working on uncovered. It is covered again when we move on.

  • When to ask your doctor

If you are pregnant, unwell or unsure about a health condition, ask your doctor first. We do not diagnose.

  • What to wear

Whatever is comfortable to arrive in. Undress only as far as you like, and drink some water afterward.

Who does this work

Each is licensed by the state. Book with the one you like.

A few questions

Will it hurt?

It should feel firm, not painful. Tell us the moment it is too much and we go lighter.

Which length should I book?

Sixty minutes suits most first visits. Choose 75 or 90 if you want the whole body and time on one area.

Can I stay on one area?

Yes. Say so at the start and your therapist spends most of the time there.
